Metro VRI Golf Club

Hi and welcome to the Metro VRI golf club!

This club as many of you are aware has been the organiser for the annual VRI golf tournament which just celebrated its 69th year. The club also organises the Victorian ANZRI tournament which is held every 2 years by a different state railway or New Zealand rail.

The Metro golf club supports all city and country centre days by advertising, promoting and attending as many events as possible.

As well as the centre days there are two extremely strong VRI golf clubs that play once a month:

 

Northern VRI Golf Club:  Play once a month on a Sunday at different courses over the North West culminating in their season ending trip to Rich River.

 

South East VRI Golf Club: Play once a month on a Monday at the prestigious Keysborough Golf Club, they also have a trip away which is at Yarrawonga.

We encourage all VRI members and guests to join us at any of our golfing activities. The prizes are well worthwhile, but more importantly you have the opportunity to meet and play with new people on courses that you may have not experienced,or would like to play once more.

 

 

ANZRI Golf Carnival 2023

The ANZRI Golf 2023 – Team VIC

 

The ANZRI Golf Carnival 2023 was held in Mandurah WA after many years on hold. Commencing with a welcome dinner on Sunday 30 April 2023, the golf and social functions continued over the following 10 days visiting some of Perth's most popular courses and attractions. All golfers, partners and guests from
Railway Institutes across Australian and New Zealand were welcomed.

Final results

Commissioners Shield gross – Victoria
VIC were the gross champion 4th time in 93 years
Tintara Cup Nett Champion - New Zealand
ANZRI player of the carnival - Phil Morrow Vic
4 Vics made the 14 all stars
